October
Starting from 8th October at 1:30pm in St Saviour's, Fr David will lead Bible Study based on The Acts of the Apostles. Sessions will generally be held between 1:30pm & 3pm followed by tea & biscuits on the 2nd & 4th Thursday's of the month.
Isfield Village Helping Hands will be helping with the autumn tidy around St Margaret's churchyard on Saturday 17th October from 11am until 12:15pm. Clearing leaves & planting spring bulbs alongside the Graveyard and Archaeological Group and other volunteers. A great opportunity to spend time together, get outside, help our community and have some fun!
St Michael and All Angels are holding the annual Festival of Pumpkin Art across the weekend of 24th & 25th October between 5pm & 7pm each day. We warmly invite you to carve a pumpkin with a design of your choice (no ghosts, ghouls or Halloween designs please) to display at this year’s festival & enter the competition for the best pumpkin design! (Age categories: child 4-11 / youth 12-17 / adult 18+) just bring your CARVED pumpkin along to Little Horsted Church on Friday 23rd October or by midday on Saturday 24th October & leave it IN the outside porch with your name, contact details & category.
Sung Evensong in October will be on Sunday 25th October at 5:30pm in Holy Cross.
November
All Souls Requiem & Communion will be on Sunday 1st November at 5:30pm in Holy Cross Church.
St Margaret's, Isfield will also hold their service for All Souls on 1st November at 5:30pm. All are welcome.
On 4th November at 8pm in Holy Cross, the Ashdown Singers will hold their Autumn Concert in aid of the Holy Cross Organ Appeal. Tickets are £15 on the door or £12 if purchased online. Includes a drink. Please do come and support this.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at St Michael's, Little Horsted on Sunday 8th November at 10:50am. All are welcome.
Our Civic Service of Remembrance will be held from 3pm on Sunday 8th November.
Our annual Christmas Fair will take place on Saturday 21st November between 10am & 2pm in The Belmont Centre.
Also on Saturday 21st November at 4pm, the Local Villages Choir (LVC) will perform Mozart Missa Solemnis. Tickets are £20 and includes a drinks reception. Tickets can be purchased online at lvchoir.org.uk/product/mozart-missa-solemnis
Choral Evensong will be held on Sunday 22nd November at 5:30pm. We have invited guests of those who have been through the Bishops Certificate programme via the Haywards Heath group during 2026 joining us. Everyone is most welcome to support.
Save the date! On Saturday 28th November, the Very Chatty Café team will be hosting a Wreath Making workshop in The Belmont Centre between 10am & 1pm. We start the season of Advent with our Advent Carol Service on Sunday 29th November at 5:30pm led by the Choir. Everyone is most welcome to this beautiful service of Carols & readings.
December
On Sunday 20th December, St Michael and All Angels, Little Horsted will have a Family Carol Service at 11am. All are welcome.
On Sunday 20th December will be the service of Nine Lessons and Carols in Holy Cross Church at 6pm. Everyone is welcome.
On Christmas Eve the Crib Service will take place at 4pm in Holy Cross Church. Get there early as this is always a packed out service for all the family.
Also, at 11:30pm we will celebrate the first Eucharist of Christmas with our Midnight Mass in Holy Cross Church.
January 2027
To mark the season of Epiphany, the Choir will lead a special Epiphany Carol Service on Sunday 24th January at 5:30pm in Holy Cross Church.
On Sunday 31st January a special invitation to come hear all about the Holy Cross Organ restoration project with a wine & cheese reception. More details to follow in due course. Registration for the event will be required, tickets will be free.
February
On Wednesday 3rd February at 2pm, The Very Chatty Café bring you a film showing of "South Pacific" together with Afternoon Tea in The Belmont Centre. Enjoy a beautiful musical film and delicious Afternoon tea & treats sounded by good company and conversation.
